Public Relations Officer for the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards board, George Quaye has been relieved of his duty, ghanafuo.com has learnt.

George Quaye came under fire after he alleged on one edition of his show ‘The Pundits’ which airs on Gh One TV that some Gospel artistes have in time past bribed him in order to win awards.

His comment was met with outrage from some Gospel artistes who thought it was a dent on their image and reputation they have built over the years.

Although he came out to apologise for his childish  comments and sought for forgiveness from the Gospel fraternity, several calls came from industry players, some Gospel artistes and the general public for him to be sacked.

Ghanafuo.com can confirm that the under fire PRO has been sacked from the Vodafone Ghana Music Award board as its spokesperson but still holds the position as Head of Communication at Charter House.

Ghanafuo.com can also report that his position will be occupied by Mark Okraku Mantey and Nii Aye Tagoe as the board prepares for this year’s edition of the award scheme.

Meanwhile, this year’s edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards will be launched today.
