He is said to have passed away after a long battle with cancer. According to the information gathered, his cause of death was complications from glioblastoma, an aggressive type of brain cancer.

He was a married man at the time of his death having been married once. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lindsay O’Donovan, and his four children who have been identified as Aoife, Ciaran, Aidan, and Nuala.
