Melissa Lou Etheridge is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and musician (born May 29, 1961).
Her 1988 self-titled debut album was a triumph among underground listeners. The album’s debut hit, “Bring Me Some Water,” earned Etheridge her first Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female in 1989, and it peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard 200.
