Born on February 11, 1979, Brandy Rayana Norwood is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, and model better known by her stage name Brandy.
Norwood was raised in Carson- California but born in McComb, Mississippi. She started her career as a background vocalist for teen bands.
She has been dubbed “the Vocal Bible” for her unusual voice, that is distinguished by its peculiar timbre, voice-layering, and complicated riffs. She had sold more than 40 million records as of August 2020, with 8.62 million of those albums occurring in the United States alone.
She has received many honors and recognition for her work, including a Grammy Award, and an American Music Award.

Brandy was born to Willie Norwood and Sonja Norwood. Although we do not know much about Sonja, William Ray Norwood Sr. (born November 30, 1955) is an American gospel singer.
In the 1970s, Willie Norwood began his career in the music business at Jackson State University on a band scholarship. There, he joined the soul band ‘The Composers’ and rose to the position of lead vocalist and trumpeter.
