American rapper Torence Ivy Hatch, better known by his stage name Boosie BadAzz or simply Boosie (formerly Lil Boosie), was born on November 14, 1982.

As a member of the hip-hop collective Concentration Camp, Hatch began rapping in the 1990s. In 2000, he launched his solo career with the release of his debut album, Youngest of da Camp. He signed with Pimp C’s Trill Entertainment the following year after leaving the label and released his second studio album, For My Thugz. Hatch, one of Southern hip hop’s most well-known artists, has released 42 mixtapes, six solo studio albums, and seven albums with other artists.

On charges related to drugs and firearms, Hatch received a four-year prison sentence in 2009. He was indicted for first-degree murder in 2010 and given a ten-year sentence for multiple counts of drug possession with the intent to distribute. Hatch was released early on March 5, 2014, after spending five years in prison.

Boosie has six wives and eight children. He has praised women who remain in a relationship with an unfaithful partner and stated that he respects those women. He stated that he did not believe marriage was a good choice for him because he did not want to lose half of his fortune to his spouse in the event that he committed adultery.

His father was a pastor, and his mother, Connie Hatch, was a school principal. Torrence Hatch Senior, his father, lived until 1997. As a child, he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
He is Taquari Hatch’s brother.
