His wife confirmed the heartbreaking news on Facebook, stating that Marco had died in Cologne, Germany, while doing what he loved. As his body is in a foreign country, there will be delays in bringing him back to Portugal. She expressed her gratitude for the support received and asked for privacy and respect during this difficult time.
Born in the Azores archipelago, Marco had a strong passion for muscle building. Despite facing physical challenges that initially prevented him from doing sports, he found solace and purpose in weightlifting. He documented his journey on social media, amassing a large following of nearly 25,000 on Instagram and creating his own YouTube channel for training videos.
Known for his dedication to the sport, Marco competed for the first time at the age of 40 and won. His commitment to natural bodybuilding and perseverance in pursuing his dreams earned him the title of the “most shredded bodybuilder ever” among his fans and peers.
