The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Parliament are collaborating to make sure Dr. Mustapha Ahmed, the former Minister for Youth and Sports,’s body is transported from India to Ghana.
According to Yussif Jajah Issaka, the NDC MP for Ayawaso North, this will provide a dignified funeral for the late National Democratic Congress (NDC) member of parliament for Ayawaso East.
Dr. Ahmed traveled to India for medical care because he was experiencing back pain, but he passed away following surgery.
On February 7, 2024, a Wednesday, his age of sixty-three, was reported deceased.
As a great person who had a lasting influence on Ghana’s political and economic environment, Mr. Issaka added that Parliament would be involved in ensuring the late MP received a dignified funeral.
On Thursday, he made this statement in response to a delegation from the Minority Caucus led by Second Deputy Minority Whip Ms. Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, who confirmed the former MP’s passing on Speaker Alban Bagbin’s behalf and expressed condolences to the family.
From 2001 to 2013, Dr. Ahmed served as the MP for Ayawaso East. After the seat was divided from his former one, he was eventually transferred to Ayawaso North.
The late MP was a dentist, an estate developer, and a veteran military officer in addition to being heavily interested in politics.
During the administration of former President John Dramani Mahama, he served as the Minister of Youth and Sports.
He added that in order for the body to be flown in on Friday, February 9, or Saturday, February 10, 2024, the family was also in contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The dead was regarded as a highly esteemed individual who made substantial contributions to Ghana’s political and social domains by Ms. Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, MP for Ada.
