Robert John Blizzard was a British Labour Party politician born on May 31, 1950, in Bury St Edmunds, West Suffolk.
From 1997 until 2010, he served as the Member of Parliament for Waveney under the name Bob Blizzard.

He went on to teach English at Southfields Secondary School in Gravesend, Kent, after graduating.
In 1976, he was appointed Head of the English Department at Crayford School on Iron Mill Lane in Bexley.
He became Head of English at Lynn Grove High School in Gorleston-on-Sea, Norfolk, in 1986.
While an MP, he helped secure money for the Orbis Energy Centre in Lowestoft and pushed for a third water crossing in the town, although that was not authorized until 2015, and construction is now well underway.
