Robert Gilliland Beckel was a political analyst, political operator and commentator from the United States.
Beckel was born in 1948 in New York City and went to Wagner College on Staten Island. Beckel worked as a campaign manager for Walter Mondale’s 1984 presidential campaign throughout his political career.
In 1984, he founded the consulting business Bob Beckel & Associates. In 2002, he managed Alan Blinken‘s campaign for the United States Senate.
Beckel joined Fox News in 2011 and has co-hosted The Five for over 700 episodes. Beckel co-hosted Fox’s long-running panel discussion program The Five with Dana Perino and Greg Gutfeld until he was fired in 2017 for making an offensive remark to an African-American staffer.
He was 73 years of age.
