Blaine Williamson Gabbert is one of the American professional quarterbacks for the National Football League’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was born on October 15, 1989. Prior to leaving early for the 2011 NFL Draft after his junior year, he played collegiate football at Missouri.
Gabbert made known in January 2011 that he would forgo his senior year and instead declare for the 2011 NFL Draft.
The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Gabbert with the 10th overall choice on April 28, 2011, in the first round of the NFL Draft. Gabbert was chosen by Jacksonville after a six-spot move by the Washington Redskins. After Cam Newton and Jake Locker, he was chosen as the third quarterback that year. As the backup quarterback for Tom Brady, while playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he is the only quarterback selected in the first round of that draft class to have won a Super Bowl.
