Following a difficult and determined battle with prostate cancer, Bill died away quietly on Wednesday, August 31, at his home in Suffolk, surrounded by his family.
Turnbull’s mild presenting style, which was ideal for early morning television, made him a fan favorite among viewers on BBC Breakfast.
He co-hosted BBC Breakfast with Sian Williams, Susanna Reid, Kate Silverton, Natasha Kaplinsky, and Louise Minchin during his tenure there.
Just after the news was revealed, his former coworkers Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty delivered an emotional tribute on Thursday’s episode.
