Beyoncé features Shatta Wale on “The Lion King: The Gift” album

Grammy award-winning musician Beyoncé has featured Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale on her latest collection for Disney, titled “The Lion King: The Gift”.

The album features a bunch of international artistes including Nigerians, but Shatta Wale is the only Ghanaian musician to be featured on.

Shatta Wale and Beyoncé paired on “Already” off the 14-track soundtrack for the live-action movie which was premiered in London over the weekend.

The “Ayoo” hitmaker shared the glory with his fellow Ghanaian musicians on his social media and thanked Nana Appiah Mensah – the embattled C.E.O of Zylofon Media and MenzGold Ghana Limited – for the success.

“I said it 2019 go be so beautiful 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽Thank you God for the revelation. And my fans especially ..And to all the Gh artiste, this is not just for me but for all of us !!! Thanks to NAM1 & Fantasy Entertainment Zylofon music [sic]” he noted.

Ghanaian record producer Guilty Beatz – who is known for his monster hit “Akwaaba” featuring Mr Eazi, Patapaa and Pappy Kojo – reportedly produced three songs off the album.

Wizkid, Yemi Alade, Tekno, Mr Eazi and Burna Boy from Nigeria also appeared on the album.

Other top international artistes who featured on the album include JAY-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Pharrell and Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

The news was met with massive social media buzz. Shatta Wale appeared on Twitter worldwide trending vertical for the first time.
