The year 2021 ended with a great loss as a beloved icon and actress Betty White died Friday just three weeks shy of her 100th birthday.
In view of that, White will be celebrated in her hometown, Oak Park for the illustrious career she had and the impact she has made as an actress.
The people of Oak Park say they are grateful for the life she lived. For that reason, there will be business discounts to customers as part of her birthday celebration.
The president of the Village of Oak Park, Vicki Scaman, told TMZ:
“Betty White Day” during a memorial for community members in Oak Park.
For Betty’s special day, the Oak Park small business community is banding together to offer discounts to customers and “Betty White specials.”
White, an Oak Park native, had the longest-running career in television history as a woman. CBS 2’s Shardaa Gray did some digging and found the apartment where White lived as a baby nearly a century ago.
Her family did not stay in the apartment long, but her roots in Oak Park stand strong.
White was born in 1922, and had starred in shows since 1939. She went to Beverly Hills High School.
