Bethany Louise Mooney, born January 14, 1994, is an Australian professional cricketer.
Mooney plays for the national cricket team as a batter in all three formats of the game. She also plays for Queensland Fire as a wicket-keeper-batter, and since 2020, the Perth Scorchers.
In March 2020, at the end of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020, she became the World’s number one batter in Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) cricket.
As a child, Mooney played many sports including soccer, tennis, and Australian rules football. Before she turned 8, she was invited to fill in for her brother’s cricket team. This led to her making regular appearances for Kialla Lakes Cricket Club.
By the time she turned 13, she was already being tipped to play cricket for Australia. There she made really good friends in cricket which helped keep her in the game.
