Bernard Hill, who starred in the Peter Jackson trilogy’s “The Lord of the Rings” as King Théoden of Rohan, declared he would not watch Amazon’s Tolkien spin-off series “The Rings of Power.” all because he claims it is a money-making venture.
In an interview with Metro, Hill claimed that since it is a business venture, he, therefore, has no interest in watching it or taking part in it. Hill has no qualms about disparaging the Amazon spin-off. According to Metro, he promptly said he is not interested when asked if he had watched the prequel series.
Hill said that he would have wanted Jackson to have ended after the three (Lord of the Rings movies) and avoided turning The Hobbit, which was Tolkien’s first published work of Middle Earth, into a full trilogy.
He referred to The Hobbit, a 1937 fantasy book, he described it as a little book and said that he felt they were pushing it when they gave the movie The Hobbit its moniker.
They performed the task admirably, very admirably. They made it larger, but Hill told Metro but added that he believed a piece of elastic could only be stretched so far.
He thinks the filmmakers were successful because The Hobbit movie has some really amazing content.
