Bensalem teenager allegedly killed a girl, asked for help disposing of body via IG video chat

Police allege that a teenager killed another young person and confessed on an Instagram video chat, requesting for assistance in disposing of the body. He has since been charged as an adult.

Police in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, reported that they got a phone on Friday afternoon from a parent who said her daughter had received a video call from a 16-year-old acquaintance.

“During the video chat, the 16-year-old stated that he had just killed someone,” police stated that in a statement. “He then flipped the video image and showed the legs and feet of someone covered in blood. He then asked for assistance with disposal of the body.”

According to the police, when they arrived at the scene of a mobile home, they discovered a young male fleeing. On the restroom floor, a young woman with what seemed to be a gunshot wound was discovered.

“There were also indications that substantial steps were taken to clean up the crime scene,” police confirmed.

Police reported that the 16-year-old, named as Joshua Cooper, was spotted and put into jail a short while later. He was sent to a juvenile detention facility after being denied bail on a number of adult counts, including criminal homicide. Its has been unable to ascertain whether Cooper has a lawyer.

About 60,000 people live in the township of Bensalem in Bucks County, which is northeast of Philadelphia by about half an hour.
