Alistair Benjamin Wilkinson (born 25 April 1987), also known as Ben Wilkinson, is a former professional footballer who works at Manchester City’s academy.

He played for Hull City, Harrogate Town, Gretna, York City, Altrincham, Chester City, Tamworth, and Boston United as a midfielder. Wilkinson was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, the son of former player and manager Howard Wilkinson. He played for Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, and Derby County’s youth squads before becoming a scholar with the latter in May 2003. In January 2005, he joined Hull City, where he finished his scholarship.

In the summer of 2006, he agreed to a two-year professional contract with Hull. On 9 December 2006, he signed a one-month loan with Conference North team Harrogate Town, where he made five appearances before returning to Hull in January 2007.

In January 2008, Wilkinson went on trial with York City of the Conference National, where he scored two goals in a reserve-team match against Sheffield United. On 31 January 2008, he signed a loan deal with Gretna of the Scottish Premier League until the end of the 2007-08 season. On 9 February 2008, he made his debut in a 2-0 away defeat against Heart of Midlothian and went on to make 13 appearances for the club.
