Bafour Owiredu Agyarko Minta II, the Ankobeahene of Begoro, is expected to come before the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council on February 13 in order to support opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama.

Nana Owiredu Agyarko Minta II is required by letter to provide an explanation of his acts to the Traditional Council, signed by D. M. Ofori-Atta, the Council’s secretary.

According to the summons, Nana Owiredu Agyarko engaged in partisan politics and tarnished the Begoro stool’s reputation by bringing it into shame, as well as making fun of it. The petitioners include Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiahwe and Okyeame Owusu.

The petitioners allege that Nana Owiredu Agyarko made partisan political remarks in favor of the NDC while posing as Nananom’s representative and speaking on behalf of the Begoro people at a campaign event that John Mahama attended.

The summons further said that Nana Owiredu Agyarko Minta II must pay a hearing fee of GHC1,000.00 and must appear before Nananom without fail, accompanied by any witnesses.
