Ghana Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is taking steps to address concerns about the quality and distribution of food in schools under the free SHS program.
During a recent meeting with clergy members in the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Bawumia was urged to consider involving Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) in overseeing food distribution to ensure transparency and accountability. The Vice President agreed with the suggestion and plans to raise the issue during a Cabinet meeting.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of commercial agriculture in reducing food prices and addressing food shortages. He also highlighted the need for technology-driven agricultural methods to improve production and efficiency.
Additionally, he proposed transitioning public transportation to electric vehicles as a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution.
