Encouraging Ghanaians to cast their ballots for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the upcoming elections in December is former president John Agyekum Kufour’s endorsement.

Referring to Vice President Bawumia as a man of destiny, Mr. Kufour emphasized that he is the ideal candidate for the nation at this crucial epoch.

Dr. Bawumia has the humility required for good governance, he emphasized. Preceding Dr. Bawumia’s speech at the University of Professional Studies in Accra, the former president spoke about his first meeting with the latter during his administration.

He declared that he was certain that after meeting Dr. Bawumia, he realized how important he was to Ghana’s political future.

“This young man [Bawumia] has these instruments under his belt: digitization, geopolitics, and additionally, we’ve seen him perform loyally under President Akufo-Addo, and he has also been in public view since he got selected as the vice presidential candidate [of the NPP] in 2008.”

Former President Kufuor stated, “He is characterized by humility and the temperance necessary for the job of leading Ghana on the way forward.”

“We do not want the normal regular politics that we have here in Ghana; we have reached a crossroads,” he said to him. We need a leader who can pick up the necessary workforce with vision, even in this complex world, and who can keep up with emerging technologies,” he continued.
