The Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has revealed plans to introduce E-Gates at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) by the end of this year.
This initiative will allow passengers to enter the country without having to interact with immigration officers.
During a meeting with the clergy in Cape Coast, Dr. Bawumia explained that the E-Gates will streamline the entry process for travelers. All passengers will need to do is input their Ghana Card into the system, and the gate will automatically open for them to pass through.
The implementation of E-Gates at the KIA is part of the government’s efforts to enhance security and efficiency at the airport. Dr. Bawumia emphasized that this technology will be operational before the end of the year, providing a seamless entry experience for travelers arriving in Ghana.
In addition to the E-Gates initiative, Dr. Bawumia also discussed the need to review the powers granted to the presidency by the constitution.
