Born in Jamaica on April 30, 1964, Barrington Ainsworth Levy performs dancehall and reggae music. He is 58 years old and together with his cousin Everton Dacres, he founded the Mighty Multitude, which put out “My Black Girl” in 1977.

With the release of “A Long Time Since We Don’t Have No Love”, Levy launched his solo career. Despite the single’s commercial failure, the fourteen-year-old was a well-liked performer at Jamaican dancehalls.

Record producer Delroy Wright said that it was his brother Hyman Wright who first met Barrington Levy through Wade “Trinity” Brammer in the middle of the 1970s in an interview with Midnight Raver published in August 2014.

Delroy Wright claimed that Hyman Wright had a number of recordings with Barrington Levy before introducing him to Henry “Junjo” Lawes.
