In tomorrow’s (September 13) game all eyes will be on the 34-year-old Lewandowski since it appears as though he will start in the Champions League matchup against Bayern Munich, his former club.
Since joining Barcelona in the summer, the Polish striker has been on fire. Last week, in his debut European game for the team, he scored a hat-trick as Xavi’s team defeated Viktoria Plzen 5-1. He is undoubtedly going to be Xavi’s solution to beating the German giants.
Although it is very clear who will be leading the line, Xavi must make a choice in several crucial areas.
Raphinha and Ansu Fati are vying for the other position, although Ousmane Dembele has been equally brilliant and is anticipated to start.
For Xavi, the center of defense also has a lot of choices. The preferred pairing seems to be Ronald Araujo and Eric Garcia, but with Kounde in the picture, that may alter in the future.
However, it is likely that the Frenchman will stay at right-back, for the time being, providing a more defensive alternative to counteract Bayern’s enormous threat on the wings.
