As a writer and segment producer for women’s interest stories on “The Today Show” in the 1960s, Barbara Walters launched her career as a broadcast journalist and television personality in the United States.

Walters got more airtime because people were interested in her show. In 1974, she became the first woman in the United States to co-host a news program.

Barbara Walters became a household name due to both her ability to conduct interviews and her popularity among viewers. She spoke with first ladies and presidents of the United States, including Barack Obama and Richard Nixon. She also conducted interviews with Joe Biden and Donald Trump when neither of them was president.

Barbara Walters was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2007 in addition to being inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1989. In addition, in the year 2000, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences presented her with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

From 1951 until her retirement in 2015, Barbara Walters was a journalist. She died on December 30, 2022, at the age of 93, in her Manhattan residence.
