Baba Iddrisu suffers LaLiga relegation with Almeria

Baba Iddrisu’s tough season with Almeria has come to a disappointing end as the club suffered relegation from La Liga. The 28-year-old midfielder has struggled for playing time, featuring in just 24 games with most of his appearances coming off the bench.

Almeria had a forgettable campaign, failing to build on their narrow escape from relegation the previous season. The team managed only one victory in 33 matches, with their lone win coming against Las Palmas last month. With 21 defeats, it was inevitable that the Andalusian side would be relegated from Spain’s top-flight.

Their hopes of survival were dashed after a 3-1 defeat to Getafe, leaving them with a meager 14 points and no chance of climbing out of the relegation zone. Iddrisu, who previously played over 100 games for Mallorca, joined Almeria on loan with a buyout clause included.

In the midst of Almeria’s relegation, Baba Iddrisu is currently in talks to join the American club, New England Revolution. Despite the disappointment of relegation, Iddrisu is looking forward to a new challenge in Major League Soccer as he seeks to resurrect his career.
