A senior figure in the defunct Ba’ath Party and a member of the Iraqi leadership in Qatar, according to a security source, passed away in one of the capital city of Baghdad’s jails at the age of 83.

According to the source, Aziz Saleh Al-Khafaji, also known as Aziz Saleh Nouman, was moved to Abu Ghraib jail in Baghdad three years ago from the central prison in Nasiriyah (Al-Hout), and he passed away due to a serious illness which is still unknown.
