Award-winning South African rapper, Bokang Moleli, popularly known as Malome Vector, has tragically passed away. The sad news of his death was announced by his former record label, Ambitiouz Entertainment, on Wednesday evening.

In a heartfelt message, Ambitiouz Entertainment expressed their deepest condolences to his loved ones and the music industry as a whole during this difficult time. The label described Malome Vector as a “shining beacon” and stated that the “Lion of Lesotho’s sun has set”.

The Free State Department of Health confirmed that three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene of a fatal accident on the N1 near Kroonstad, while two others, a man and a woman, were rushed to Boitumelo Regional Hospital for treatment.

Reports indicate that Malome Vector was on his way from Gauteng to Lesotho to shoot a music video when the accident occurred. The vehicle he was traveling in collided with a heavy motor vehicle, resulting in the tragic loss of life. Among the other passengers in the vehicle were his musical colleagues Lizwi Wokuqala and Puleng Phoofolo.

Hillary Mophethe of the Free State Department of Transport mentioned that the driver may have lost control of the vehicle due to a burst tyre, but the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.

The untimely death of Malome Vector has sent shockwaves throughout the music community, with fans and industry peers mourning the loss of a talented artist. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
