Former NFL MVP Cam Newton is making a comeback attempt after not playing in the 2022 season, and he took a significant step in his return this week at Auburn’s Pro Day. Although opinions were mixed among NFL scouts who watched his performance, Auburn wide receiver Shedrick Jackson has voiced his belief in Newton’s ability to play in the NFL again.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, Jackson praised Newton’s skills and said he thinks Newton “still has it.” Jackson, who himself posted impressive numbers at the Pro Day, also expressed hope that his own performance will help him land an opportunity in the NFL next season.

“He’s done it before at a high level in college and in the pros,” Jackson said. “So, I think he still has it.”

Jackson, who is the nephew of NFL legend Bo Jackson, also spoke highly of Newton’s accuracy and touch on his passes during the workout.

As for Shedrick’s own performance, he ran a blazing 4.25 40-yard dash and caught multiple passes, hoping to earn an opportunity in the NFL
