Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has committed his future to the club by signing a new five-year contract following their qualification for the Champions League next season.
Emery took over the reins at Villa in October 2022 when the team was languishing in 17th place in the Premier League. However, he was able to turn their fortunes around and lead them to a fourth-place finish this season.
Having previously managed Sevilla and Arsenal, Emery has already established a strong bond with both the players and fans at Villa. He expressed his delight at the opportunity to continue working with the club, highlighting the positive atmosphere and support from the fans as key reasons for his extension.
Club chairman Nassef Sawiris also commended Emery for his impact on the team, stating that Villa is on the path to “building something special” under his guidance.
Aston Villa, who were crowned European champions in 1982, made a return to European football this season by reaching the Europa Conference League semi-finals after a 13-year absence.
With Emery now committed to a long-term deal, Villa supporters can expect continued success and progress in the upcoming seasons.
