Her father Mark Kunis, a Mechanical Engineer worked as a cab driver while her mother Elvira, a Physics Teacher, ran a pharmacy to support her and her older brother, Michael.
In 1994, at age nine, she began taking acting classes and was managed by Susan Curtis. After a few years of appearing in TV commercials and shows, she finally had her big break in 1998 at 14, when she played Jackie Burkhart in the new sitcom That ’70s Show.
Even with a successful television career, she managed to venture into movies in 2001. She has since acted in critically acclaimed movies like Black Swan (2010), which landed her a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
