Asher Walters, a British actor and rapper of Jamaican descent, was born Ashley Anthony Walters on June 30, 1982, in Peckham, southeast London. His mother, Pamela Case, a local government official, raised him. From the age of four, Asher Walters schooled at St. Georges CE Primary School in Camberwell and later was transferred to Pimlico Academy formerly Pimlico School. He successfully finished his GCSEs, scoring well in each of the ten classes.

Ashley Walters first gained notoriety as a member of the UK garage band So Solid Crew, whose second single “21 Seconds” reached at number one. Walters has also had a fruitful acting career. After first gaining recognition for his performances in Storm Damage (2000), Bullet Boy (2004), Get Rich or Die Trying (2005), and Life and Lyrics (2006). With his leading appearances as Dushane Hill in the British crime series Top Boy and as Ronnie Pike Jr. in the Sky One police procedural series Bulletproof, which he co-created with Noel Clarke and Nick Love, Walters gained widespread recognition in the 2010s. He has appeared on British TV shows such as The Bill, Holby City, Doctor Who, Silent Witness, and the 2015 BBC police thriller Cuffs, to name just a few.
