Chairman of the Kotoko Circles in the Ashanti Region, Asare Manu, has shared details of a troubling incident that occurred at the club’s training grounds.

The incident unfolded as a result of frustration among supporters due to Asante Kotoko’s poor performance in recent matches, with the team losing four out of their last five games and drawing one.

Manu recounted the events, stating that he was at work when he received a call about supporters storming the training grounds and preventing the coaches from conducting their duties. He immediately contacted his vice chairman and together they rushed to the scene. However, upon their arrival, they were met with resistance as the supporters refused to let them approach the players.

Despite their attempts to reason with the supporters, it was only after the arrival of Nana Pinkra, who eventually managed to calm the situation, that the grievances of the supporters were heard. The supporters expressed their dissatisfaction with the coaching staff and some players, demanding changes within the team.

Nana Pinkra assured the supporters that their concerns would be addressed and taken to the team owner, with a meeting set to take place with the players, coaches, and the Interim Management Committee. Asante Kotoko is set to face league leaders FC Samartex in their upcoming match, with the hopes of turning their performance around. Supporters are eagerly awaiting to see the outcome of the upcoming meeting and any potential changes within the team.
