Veteran Ghanaian actor Nat Banini has expressed concerns about the performance of Mark Okraku-Mantey, the current Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, over his backing of the entertainment sector.

He lamented Okraku-Mantey’s failure to embark on any significant projects that would have helped the entertainment sector prosper and turn a profit.

Nat Banini says he is unable to identify any particular project or endeavor that Okraku-Mantey’s group is working on that he believes bodes poorly for the entertainment industry and the former music producer.

In a video that Hello Frank posted on his YouTube website, Nat Banini vented his frustrations at Mark Okraku-Mantey and urged him to stop using his position for political purposes and start working on projects that would advance the industry.

“What has Mark Okraku-Mantey, the music producer, accomplished for the creative arts sector? He was a music producer. Music is only one aspect of the creative arts. What has the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture accomplished in the other areas?

“They should put politics aside and stop talking politics and making everything look like let’s talk well. This is not a matter of talking well, show me. They have the greatest opportunity in this government so they should show me what they have done,” he said.

Some prominent figures in the entertainment business have harshly criticized Mark Okraku-Mantey for his failure to assist them in his capacity as a music producer holding such a significant position in the government.
