Russian professional boxer Artur Beterbiev was born in Khasavyurt, Russia, on January 21, 1985. His full name is Artur Asilbekovich Beterbiev.
From an early age, he fell in love with boxing. Throughout his amateur career, he competed as a light-heavyweight and heavyweight, winning the European Amateur Boxing Championships in 2006.
Beterbiev competed at the 2008 Olympics and did remarkably well. He later won the light heavyweight championship in the 2009 World Championships.
