Arsenal intends to part ways with Thomas Partey over injury problems

There have been reports swirling in the football world that Arsenal is open to entertaining offers for midfielder Thomas Partey.

The decision seems to stem from Partey’s ongoing battle with injuries that have plagued his time at the North London club.

The news comes in the aftermath of Arsenal’s disappointing exit from the Champions League, as they were knocked out by Bayern Munich with an aggregate score of 3-2 in the quarter-finals. Following this setback, Arsenal is said to be focusing on offloading four players in the upcoming summer transfer window, including the likes of Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, Aaron Ramsdale, and the Ghanaian international, Thomas Partey.

Partey, who joined Arsenal from Atlético Madrid in October 2020, has struggled to find consistent form for the Gunners due to his injury troubles. Despite showing glimpses of his quality, the 30-year-old has only managed to make eight Premier League appearances this season, falling short of expectations.

Although Partey’s market value is still estimated at €20,000,000m by Transfermarkt, Arsenal seems to be contemplating a change in their midfield setup given the Ghanaian’s injury woes.

It remains to be seen where Partey’s future lies.
