Arjun Singh Atwal, an Indian professional golfer who was born on March 20, 1973, is the first golfer from his country to join the PGA Tour in the United States and later win an event there.

He has competed on the Asian Tour and the European Tour.

Harminder Singh Atwal, a well-known industrialist from Asansol and Kolkata, West Bengal, India, was born into a Sikh family. Arjun was born to Harminder Singh Atwal.

In Kolkata, he went to St. James’ School. Atwal began playing golf at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club and Tollygunge Club when he was 14 years old. He also attended W. Tresper Clarke High School in Westbury, New York, for two years while studying there.

He started playing professionally in 1995 and quickly rose to the top of the Asian Tour, becoming first in the order of merit in 2003 and being the first player to earn a million dollars by winning the Hero Honda Masters at home the same year.
