Are Pelé and Mbappe related?

When he scored twice to help France defeat Poland in the quarterfinals, Mbappe broke one of Pele’s records. He is the only player to overtake World Cup record holder Pele by scoring nine goals before turning 24.

Pele, a legendary athlete from Brazil, praised Kylian Mbappe for his good wishes and expressed his joy at the France star breaking one of his records.

Mbappe urged his Twitter followers to “Pray for the King” in response to allegations that he is ailing due to his ongoing cancer treatment and recent hospitalization for a cardiac condition.

Pele, who was actually born Edson Arantes do Nascimento, is widely regarded as the greatest football player to ever step foot on a football field. Amazingly, he made 92 appearances for Brazil in international play and scored 77 goals in that time.

He also played on three great teams that won the World Cup between 1958 and 1970.

In his 21-year domestic career, Pele only played for two clubs. He made his debut in 1956 for his childhood Club Santos and played 636 times for them before spending two seasons with the now-defunct New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League.

He had scored 655 club goals in 700 appearances before he retired in 1976.

Pele and Mbappe are not related, however, they are both great footballers in the history of football.
