Polly Jean Harvey MBE is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. Primarily known as a vocalist and guitarist, she is also proficient with a wide range of instruments.
Harvey began her career in 1988 when she joined the local band Automatic Dlamini as a vocalist, guitarist, and saxophonist. The band’s frontman, John Parish, became her long-term collaborator. In 1991, she formed an eponymous trio called PJ Harvey and subsequently began her career as PJ Harvey.

Known for his baritone voice and for fronting the rock band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Cave’s music is generally characterized by emotional intensity, a wide variety of influences, and lyrical obsessions with death, religion, love, and violence.
