Benjamin Géza Affleck is an American actor and filmmaker who was born on August 15, 1972. Benjamin Géza Affleck, the real name of Affleck-Boldt, was born in Berkeley, California. He moved to Massachusetts with his family when he was three years old. Before moving to Cambridge, they lived in Falmouth, the town where his brother Casey was born.
Among his accolades are three Golden Globe Awards and two Academy Awards. Affleck began his acting career as a young actor in the PBS educational series The Voyage of the Mimi (1984, 1988). Later, he made cameos in several films by Kevin Smith and the independent comedy Dazed and Confused from 1993.
Affleck starred in the psychological thriller Gone Girl the next year, and starting with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, he played the superhero Batman in the DC Extended Universe (2016).
