Bukayo Saka of Arsenal has openly backed Emile Smith Rowe, a teammate who recently received his first call-up to the England senior team.

The two young players have been Mikel Arteta’s team’s standout performers during what has been a challenging year for them. They frequently take Premier League games by the scruff of the neck and exhibit little fear.

Saka and Smith Rowe, both products of the renowned Hale-End academy of the Gunners, are currently two of the first names on Arteta’s team-sheet as the club looks to secure some sort of European football for the upcoming season.

Smith Rowe has maybe shone more brightly than Saka, who won the club’s player of the year title last season after tallying eight goals and 10 assists across all competitions.

It’s almost too good to be true how well Saka and Smith Rowe work together. They are close friends who complement each other’s styles and who both graduated from Hale End together. A brilliant chant about them has even been written to the tune of Status Quo.
