When Heche, 52, asked DeGeneres, 63, to the 1997 “Volcano” film premiere as her date, she made news.
At the time, the two were under fire for their same-sex relationship, but Heche explained that her impulsive invitation of DeGeneres was “about living in loving-kindness.”
Before the notorious premiere, Heche was already in negotiations to star opposite Harrison Ford in the high-profile romantic comedy “Six Days, Seven Nights.”
She told Page Six that after speaking out with DeGeneres, it seemed like the studio no longer wanted her for the part and that she had even been told she wouldn’t be getting it.
Ford, 79, called with a crucial message one morning when Heche and DeGeneres were at home.
