The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, also known as Wontumi, and the Kokosohene, Nana Kwaku Duah, have been referred by the caretakers of the Antoa Nyamaa shrine in the Ashanti Region back to the Manhyia Palace to properly settle their disagreements.
Chairman Wontumi’s curse against the Kokosohene remains in effect despite their divergent accounts.
After resolving the dispute, the Kumasi Traditional Council requested that the two travel to Antoa in order to lift the curse.
However, upon their arrival, the Kokosohene steadfastly maintained his story, claiming that Wontumi had insulted the Asantehene based on the language they had exchanged.
As a result, Wontumi was unable to use the Antoa Nyamaa shrine to undo the curse he had placed upon the Kokosohene.
Accompanied by top linguists (Akyeame) from the Manhyia Palace, the two traveled to Antoa to reverse the curse. However, on their arrival, the Kokosohene asserted that Wontumi had insulted the Asantehene with words and would not back down from this claim.
After that, Wontumi added that he would likewise be unable to break the curse if the Kokosohene persisted in his beliefs.
