Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill: Okyeame Kwame is more worried about people who give BJ than gays

The discussion around the recent passing of the anti-LGBT+ bill by the Ghanaian Parliament has been addressed by singer and multiple award winner Okyeame Kwame from Ghana.

Segments of the anti-gay measure stipulate that individuals who engage in LGBTQ sexual practices may be imprisoned for a maximum of three years or six months.

A three-to five-year prison penalty is also stipulated in the law for the conduct of “wilful promotion, sponsorship, or support of LGBTQ+ activities.”

On Saturday, March 9, 2024, during a panel discussion on UTV’s United Showbiz program, Okyeame Kwame said that he is not particularly concerned about the section of the bill that aims to criminalize the activities of LGBTQ+ individuals because, in his opinion, that is the least of Ghana’s present concerns.

Although he is not very concerned about the bill, he did say that he finds it hard to comprehend why BJ (bl0w j0b) is allegedly being criminalized by it.

The singer of “Sika” questioned the relationship between LGBT+ concerns and a wife giving her husband BJ, as well as the reason behind the measure that the Ghanaian Parliament enacted on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, aiming to make it illegal.

The rap duo told MzGee, the host of the show, in a funny way that he was merely voicing the worries of the BJ association in Ghana when she questioned why he was so worried about that particular section of the bill and nothing else.
