Olaseni Joshua OBE is a British professional boxer who was born on October 15, 1989. He previously held the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight belts twice between 2016 and 2021, making him a two-time former unified world heavyweight champion.
He competed for England as an amateur and won a silver medal in the super-heavyweight event at the 2011 World Championships. He received The Ring magazine’s Prospect of the Year award in 2014, a year after going pro.

On October 5, 2013, at the O2 Arena in London, Joshua won his first professional fight by technical knockout over opponent Emanuele Leo.
His second matchup was with English heavyweight Paul Butlin, which the referee stopped in the second round because Butlin was suffering too much abuse. Joshua’s third match came against the Croatian Hrvoje Kiiek on the Prizefighter Series program on November 14, 2013.
On October 11, 2014, at The O2 Arena, Joshua defeated Russian Dennis Bakhtov in the second round to win the WBC International heavyweight title, improving his record to 9-0.
After eliminating Matt Legg in the first round in May 2014, the 24-year-old was competing in the main event of a Matchroom Sport card for the second time.
In his eighth bout, on September 13, 2014, Joshua defeated German heavyweight Konstantin Airich in the third round to improve his undefeated record to 8-0.
