Anika Noni Rose is an American actress and singer who was born on September 6, 1972, in Bloomfield Connecticut, US.
She is most known for providing the voice of Tiana, The Princess, and the Frog’s first African-American princess, in Disney (2009). In 2011, she was recognized as a Disney Legend. She is 50 years old.
In addition, she won an Academy Award for her performance as Lorrell Robinson in the 2006 film Dreamgirls, and she portrayed LaVerne “Jukebox” Ganner in the Starz series Power.
She is also well known for her stage performances, particularly for her leading roles as Emmie Thibodeaux in Caroline, or Change on Broadway (2004), for which she received the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, and Beneatha Younger in A Raisin in the Sun on Broadway (2014), for which she received a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.
