We regret to announce the passing of renowned Twin Peaks composer Angelo Badalamenti at the age of 85.
For his frequent collaborations with David Lynch, the composer was most well-known. According to Frances Badalamenti, his niece, he passed away on Sunday at home in the company of family due to natural causes.
David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti worked together on a number of occasions, including the creation of the eerie and lovely Twin Peaks theme. He wrote the music for Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, Lost Highway, and The Straight Story. He also appeared in the Showtime revival of Twin Peaks. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and other films have music by Badalamenti.
Throughout his career, Angelo Badalamenti worked with a wide range of musical artists in addition to his work on films and television, including Nima Simone, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Marianne Faithful, Shirley Bassey, Liza Minnelli, Anthrax, LL Cool J, and more.
