Andrew Ferguson Neil born 21 May 1949 is a journalist and broadcaster from Scotland. He is the chairman of The Spectator and the host of Channel 4’s The Andrew Neil Show. From 1983 to 1994, he was the editor of The Sunday Times, and in 1988, he founded Sky TV.

He worked for the BBC for 25 years, fronting shows such as Sunday Politics and This Week on BBC One, as well as Daily Politics on BBC Two. He has been the chairman of Press Holdings, which owns several newspapers and magazines, since 2008.

He is currently trending because of his recent comments about the political show Newsnight. The veteran broadcaster admitted to watching Newsnight for the first time in four years on Twitter.

He claimed to have discovered why so few people watch the BBC current affairs program. This comes after Boris Johnson faced new resignations over his leadership last night.

His remarks sparked outrage on social media, with people flocking to comment on his post. Some people disagreed with him vehemently, claiming that what he said about the program was not right.
