American actor, best known for his roles as Detective Frank Pembleton in the police drama series Homicide: Life on the Street Andre Braugher is dead at the age of 61.
According to the report, his cause of death was a result of a “brief illness” by his rep. The nature of the illness has not yet been disclosed. Braugher’s publicist Jennifer Allen confirmed his death to Daily Variety.

Andre Braugher attended St. Ignatius College Prep for high school and earned a scholarship to attend Stanford University, where Braugher graduated with a BA in theatre in 1984. He then attended the Juilliard School’s Drama Division, graduating in 1988.
