The upcoming elections in Ghana have sparked discussions on the manifestos of the two major political parties, the NPP and NDC.

One key area that has come under scrutiny is the creative arts sector, which plays a significant role in Ghana’s cultural and economic development.

The NPP has pledged to establish a Creative Arts Fund to support artists and cultural practitioners.

They also plan to create a National Theatre Endowment Fund to ensure the sustainability of the National Theatre.

Additionally, the NPP promises to review the Copyright Act and implement policies to protect intellectual property rights.

On the other hand, the NDC has outlined plans to establish a Creative Arts Council to coordinate the activities of the sector.

They also intend to upgrade and equip arts and crafts centers across the country. The NDC has also promised to establish a National Film Authority to regulate the film industry and support filmmakers.

Both parties have recognized the importance of the creative arts sector in Ghana and have proposed various initiatives to support its growth and development.

However, there are concerns about the feasibility and implementation of these promises.
