Anadi Charan Sahu, an 84-year-old retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and former Berhampur MP, passed away on January 20, 2024.

Late on Saturday night, Sahu, who had an age-related illness, passed away at his residence. Following his retirement, he got involved in politics and, as a BJP candidate, won the 1999 election to the Lok Sabha from the Berhampur Constituency.
He had also been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal and the President’s Police Medal for his effectiveness as a police officer.
